HI! I'm Mrs. Van den Heever (Mrs. van D to my students). 

My education:

I graduated from Hart High School in Santa Clarita, CA.  From there, I moved onto College of the Canyons, where I earned my AA in Humanities.  I then transferred down to SDSU, where I earned my bachelors in English, with an emphasis in creative writing. I earned my MEd in Curriculum and Instruction and my teaching credential from Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan.

My Teaching Experience:

I began subbing in Northern Michigan, and decided I wanted to go back to school to become a high school teacher.  Once I had my credential in both English and social sciences, I taught in Davison, MI, then Swartz Creek, MI.  Before landing at SMHS, I taught at Solvang Elementary (long-term sub for 6th grade English and 6-8 reading), Olga Reed in Los Alamos ( 7th and 8th grade social studies; 7th grade English), a short stint at PV, and finally here, where I've been since.

Mi educación:

Me gradué de Hart High School en Santa Clarita, CA. De ahí, pasé a College of the Canyons, donde obtuve mi título universitario de preparación básica (AA) en Humanidades. Luego me trasladé a SDSU, donde obtuve mi licenciatura en inglés, con énfasis en escritura creativa. Obtuve mi Maestría en Educación en Currículo e Instrucción y mi credencial de enseñanza de la Universidad Estatal de Ferris en Big Rapids, Michigan.

Mi experiencia docente:

Empecé como suplente en el norte de Michigan y decidí que quería volver a la escuela para ser maestra de la preparatoria. Una vez que obtuve mi credencial tanto en inglés como en ciencias sociales, enseñé en Davison, MI, luego en Swartz Creek, MI. Antes de llegar en SMHS, enseñé en Solvang Elementary (suplente a largo plazo para inglés de sexto grado y lectura de sexto a octavo grado), Olga Reed en Los Álamos (estudios sociales de séptimo y octavo grado; inglés de séptimo grado), una breve temporada en PV, y finalmente aquí, donde he estado desde entonces.
